Updata

Updata is a free tool that synchronises the stored procedures, functions and views across multiple databases from a single set of source files.

Updata has been tested with SQL Server 2005.

An earlier version of this program was called Stored Procedure Batch Update.

Features

• Easily keep stored procedures, functions and views up to date.
• Perform a restricted update using only files whose names match certain patterns or which were modified since a specified date.
• Choose whether to replace items that already exist in a database.
• Smooth background execution with a progress bar and errors listed as they occur.

If you create a file called conn_strings.txt in the same folder as Updata, every line of that file will be added to the dropdown list of connection strings and the option Use all connection strings in the list will be enabled.

Limitations

Settings aren't saved yet, so you have to reselect the options every time if you don't want the defaults.

A maliciously constructed source file could damage your database by executing unwanted commands, so make sure you know and trust the files you are using!
